Recently, Donna Woodwell of Four Moons Astrology got me thinking about Sabian Symbols.
How to explain Sabian Symbols?
The short answer is that sometime in the 1920s Marc Edmund Jones met Elsie Wheeler. Elsie found anything having to do with the world of psychics frightening. Nevertheless, within a year she had become a student of Marc Edmund Jones and was making a good living as a medium. The two of them worked together to create symbolic meanings of the actual degrees of the zodiac. Symbols are a valuable tool that help us access our inner wisdom. Just like with the Tarot, Symbols stimulate our connection to the universal consciousness through the use of images, colors, and feelings. The Sabian symbols work amazingly well and are hugely fun, especially if you put all the symbols together to create a personal narrative.
The long answer is here: The Origin and History of the Sabian Symbols
So, as last night’s Super Moon was in Scorpio and I have a Scorpio Moon natally, I took another look at the Sabian symbol for my moon which is the 28th degree of Scorpio. It is: The King Of The Fairies Approaching His Domain. Trust me when I say that it makes total sense.
Some of the Sabian Symbols for current planetary configurations are:The Sun: A Symbolical Battle Between “Swords” And “Torches” Mercury: A Man Possessed Of More Gifts Than He Can Hold Venus: Three Fledglings In A Nest High In A Tree Mars: A Harem Jupiter: White Dove Flying Over Troubled Waters Saturn: The Sight Of An Autumn Leaf Brings To A Pilgrim The Sudden Revelation Of The Mystery Of Life And Death
