Today the moon is full in Aquarius. Yes, Aquarius, that sign that conjures up images of wizards and scientists. This is a time when the Cosmos conspires with us to discover our Inner Genius, our Inner Magician. Playful Jupiter is also dancing with the Sun in Leo expanding that Leo ability to ‘creatively will’ things in to place, as well as feelings of confidence and a general feeling of ‘everything’s gonna be alright’.
Let’s face it. Things have been a little rough out there the last few weeks. Today is a day to shake the cobwebs loose, dance your dance, embrace your life and dream big. This is a time of great magic. Choose your words well but don’t forget to speak your truth. Let your dreams become reality. Believe. Dance. Sing. Share your joy.Namaste’ Y’all,
“Scientists have calculated that the chances of something so patently absurd actually existing are millions to one.
But magicians have calculated that million-to-one chances crop up nine times out of ten.”
― Terry Pratchett, Mort
Changes are afoot today… Mercury is moving into ‘just do it’ Aries alongside Uranus while the Moon has moved into ‘just dream it’ Pisces holding hands with Neptune.
The Moon is coming up to oppose Mars… feelings of frustration may create personal challenges… The urge to bust out and start all those projects that have been on hold may be hampered by the need to ‘feel’ receptive, peace-loving, compassionate… with an emphasis on the super-sensitive … Work to combine the two energies to create dynamic expressions of peace and compassion, poetry and art. How can you make the world a better place? Find a balance between what you say and what you feel.
Happy Aries Equinox, everyone! As the sun makes it’s way into the sign of Aries, we welcome Spring here in the Northern Hemisphere, as my friends in the Southern Hemisphere welcome Autumn. Day and Night are in Balance.
The Sun is now in a fire sign, while the Moon is conjunct Neptune in Pisces. However, the Moon is being opposed by retrograde Mars in Virgo which can make emotions short, frustrations difficult to avoid and/or handle. Patience, calm, compassion for others and thinking things through before we speak and/or act is more important than ever.
We do still have a Grand Trine softening the harsher energies. However, be aware that although an Earth Grand Trine sounds so lovely, it can also indicate feelings of complacency and laziness. We forget or just can’t muster up the energy to actually make use of the positive energy available to us. However with that Moon Mars opposition (squared by the North Node in Sagittarius for those of you who understand or include the effects of the Moon’s nodes in your analysis), we may just be catapulted off of our sofas into action.
Remember those dreams and hopes and grand ideas we could just almost imagine or see at the periphery of our lives during Imbolc (and Lughnasadh in the Southern Hemisphere)? Now, as we open our lives, hearts and minds to the magic and transformational energy of the Equinox, they begin to manifest in our lives.
I have this little thing I do at all the solstices and equinoxes. It’s a silly thing, really. I started it a lifetime ago when I was younger and working out in a world that didn’t necessarily see the magic of the four quarter points quite like I did. So I used to tell my students, clients, friends and myself, that if you can’t dedicate the entire day to celebrating the specialness of this day, try to find some time in the day to take a moment out to do, think, act, in a way that represents how you would like the next three months to go. In other words, as we say here in the United Kingdom, ‘Start as you mean to go on.’ If you are looking for inner peace, extend peace to others, or just allow yourself to feel that peace in your heart. If you would like more abundance in your life, give to others or buy yourself a gift without guilt or worry. You get the idea.
Sometimes we find ourselves in a time in our lives when those feelings and actions just seem impossible, times when just remaining positive seem utterly impossible. I do understand this. However, something that you can always do is to take a moment to feel the earth under your feet, the sky at your head, while taking a deep breath in and a slow exhale out. If possible go for a walk, hug a tree, admire a flower, notice the effects of the changing season on the natural world around you. In the evening, write your dreams and desires down in your journal, light a candle and know that by the time that candle has burned down, those dreams are already in the arms of the Universe, God, Goddess, Spirit working their way back to you.
Blessings, my lovely ones.
Keep your heart open to dreams. For as long as there’s a dream, there is hope, and as long as there is hope, there is joy in living.” ~ Anonymous
Dreams are extremely important. You can’t do it unless you imagine it.~ George Lucas
I wrote the post below around midnight my time… from my phone. It seemed really important at the time and I didn’t want to wait until the morning to post it. However, because it was written on my phone, it may have come across a bit abrupt. When I posted it on Facebook, it resonated with a number of people. So, I wanted to add a bit more to my thinking:
There has been much talk about this lovely Grand Trine we’ve been experiencing. The problem with Grand Trines is that in order for them to work we have to actually make use of the energy. That same harmonious energy can make us complacent and, dare I say it, a bit lazy. However, from the other perspective, if we are experiencing some truly challenging planetary placements, it can soften the experience a bit.
The other thing we have been hearing about is Retrograde Mercury, that poor planet that seems to get blamed for everything that doesn’t go our way, every misspoken word. Once again, I keep hearing this attitude that seems to say Mercury Retrograde is something to wait out, something to get over, something to masque with panaceas like an unfortunate and inappropriately timed virus.
I would caution you to remember that all transits, and indeed, all planetary energy, is there for us to use, not avoid or blame for our misfortune. Yes, some planetary energies cannot be described by even the wildest imagination as pleasant, but they can be great opportunities for growth, for self-discovery, personal transformation.
The thing is we aren’t just dealing with a Retrograde Mercury, we are also dealing with all the aspects that Retrograde Mercury is making to the other 7 planets and the Sun and Moon. That is not even taking into consideration the effect of these planetary placements on your own natal chart.
Last night it seemed to me that the square between 2 Transpersonal planets (Pluto and Uranus), the Moon (our emotional urges) and Retrograde Mercury along with the opposition between yet, another Transpersonal planet (Neptune) and another retrograde personal planet (Mars) just might be overriding that lovely earth Grand Trine. So I wrote the following:
Okay, my friends, we’ve got a Pluto Moon conjunction squared (see stressful) by a Mercury Uranus conjunction. Those are some seriously heavy energies.
Think before you speak. Work on your own behaviour before pointing your fingers at others.
In fact, take the High Road! Don’t worry about what other people are doing.
Speaking of the High Road, retrograde Mars is opposing (see: that guy over there is stopping me from doing whatever) Neptune.
Write a poem. Listen to some music. Paint a picture. Watch a movie. Meditate. Practice unconditional love. Keep your heart open. Chill.
The Moon is in Capricorn today. It is not her favourite place to be. However, embracing structure at this time makes us feel more secure.
Although, it is a good day for tackling that To Do List, try not to work too hard. If people seem emotionally distant, it’s because they are. That’s okay, we’re feeling pretty serious ourselves. This moon energy gives us a little bit of extra patience and discipline.
However, don’t let that focus on serious matters spiral down into melancholy. Use that energy to make a plan for a more successful tomorrow.
